The Shires of Vermont is within an easy drive time for much of the Northeast, 3 1/2 hours from Boston, New York and Northern New Jersey metro. In addition, we are convenient to the Albany, NY, Harford, CT, Manchester, NH and Burlington, VT airports.

FROM NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY
Take New York Throughway 87 North to Albany/Troy Exit 23, I-787 North. Go East on NY Route 7 for VT Route 9 East; follow Route 9 to the heart of Bennington. To head north to Arlington and Manchester and the Mountains area, follow VT Route 7 North and take either Exit 3 to Route 7A North Arlington/Manchester or Exit 4 to Route 11/30 to Manchester Center. Scenic Route 7a north is a slower but very enjoyabe alternative.

Taconic Parkway to the last exit; take 295 East to NY 22 North; NY 22N to NY 7 East; NY 7E to VT 9 East; Follow VT 9E to heart of Bennington. (see above for points North).

From Northway take Exit 9 to NY 146 East to NY 67 East to NY 22 North to NY 313 East. Continue East on VT 313 to Arlington. Take Historic Route 7A North to Manchester or South to Bennington.

FROM BOSTON (3 1/2 hours) AND POINTS SOUTH
Take Route 2 West to I-91 North; take Brattleboro Exit 2; follow Route 30 North past Stratton towards Manchester OR follow Route 9 West to the heart of Bennington. To head north to Arlington and Manchester and the Mountains area, follow VT Route 7 North and take either Exit 3 to Route 7A North Arlington/Manchester or Exit 4 to Route 11/30 to Manchester Center. Scenic Route 7a north is a slower but very enjoyabe alternative.

FROM MONTREAL AND POINTS NORTH
US I-87 South to Exit 20; Route 9 Norht to 149 East through Fort Anne into Whitehall, follow Route 4 East to Rutland and Route 7 South to Manchester, then Historic Route 7A into Manchester.
