Southern Vermont's country roads - an attraction in themselves - will take you through the region's much-photographed covered bridges to the mansions of Hildene and the Park-McCullough House, the area's fine museums, state parks, one-of-a-kind country shops and ski resorts.

For covered bridge aficionados Bennington County is home to five covered bridges, all built in the Town Lattice style. You're sure to enjoy a genuine photo-opportunity at any or all of these famous landmarks - The Silk, Paper Mill Village and Henry bridges are in Bennington and the Chiselville and West Arlington bridges are in Arlington.

Renowned for our attractions the 2003 edition of Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide to New England named eleven businesses and attractions in Bennington County as this year's "Editor's Picks." One of those named is the Orvis Flagship Store in Manchester. More than a retail store; it's a family attraction featuring indoor and outdoor trout ponds and a huge, stained-glass window of a flying trout. We agree it's a "must-see."
